How Much Does Rhinoplasty (Nose Job) Cost?
For patients interested in rhinoplasty, the staff at The Landings Surgery Centre provides an estimate of what the patient can expect to invest in the procedure, as well as available financing options. We believe in helping to ensure every patient receives the treatment that he or she feels can increase their quality of life. In some cases, when rhinoplasty is performed to improve breathing, insurance may cover part or all of the cost. Most patients who have a nose job in Halifax, NS, however, undergo the surgery for aesthetic reasons, and the patient pays the cost out of pocket. In these cases, we can help out with financing.
Factors Involved in Pricing
The average price of rhinoplasty falls between $4,000 and $5,000, but can range all the way up to $15,000. Many things factor into this cost, including the experience of the surgeon, the location of the practice, and the complexity of your surgery.
Variances in the cost of rhinoplasty are usually due to one of more of these factors.
The Doctor
The price of a rhinoplasty procedure often depends on the experience and reputation of the doctor performing the surgery. Patients may find doctors who are still in training who may perform the surgery under the supervision of a senior surgeon for a lower cost, while doctors who specialize in rhinoplasty will often charge more.
Many things factor into this cost, including the experience of the surgeon, the location of the practice, and the complexity of your surgery.
The Practice
The location of a patient’s surgery factors into the cost as well. Doctors can perform rhinoplasty surgery in a hospital, an ambulatory surgical center, or a private surgical suite, each with a different cost.
Hospitals typically provide the most expensive option, as they have the equipment necessary for almost any emergency that may arise. Ambulatory centers provide the necessary equipment for the procedure and typically cost less than a hospital. They charge by the hour, however, which can cause the price of the surgery to rise.
Our doctors operate in private surgical suites located in our Halifax, NS, office. Private suites provide the least expensive option for rhinoplasty surgery and allow the doctor to operate in a facility he knows well, with a staff he has chosen himself.
The Procedure
Complex procedures that require more time to perform will ultimately cost the patient more money. If the doctor performs a procedure to improve the patient’s health and well-being, insurance will typically cover at least part of the cost. Patients who undergo rhinoplasty for purely cosmetic reasons will need to cover the entire cost of the surgery out of pocket.
Financing
When patients come to our office for a rhinoplasty consultation, the doctor will outline the factors included in the cost of the procedure and provide a detailed estimate of the total cost, less any prescribed medications. We will detail how much, if any, of the cost insurance will cover, and how much the patient is responsible for.
While we accept cash, certified cheques, and major credit cards for payment, we realize that many patients will not have the ability to pay the entire cost of their surgery at once. For these patients, we offer several financing options.
Credit Medical and Medicard offer patients financing options with low monthly rates, allowing them to pay for the procedure over a period of several years. Crelogix offers fast credit decisions, allowing patients to secure a loan to cover the cost of their procedure. Terms begin at two years and require no down payments.
