Mini Facelift
What Is a Mini Facelift?
A mini facelift addresses the areas in the middle to lower thirds of the face. The procedure can eliminate excess fat or skin in or around the cheeks, mouth, and other facial features. It involves the placement of small incisions by the ears for minimal scarring with maximum results.
Benefits of a Mini Facelift
You may wonder why patients opt for a mini facelift when the option for a complete facelift is available at our practice. A mini facelift can offer several benefits that make the option more accessible than a traditional facelift:
- Less scarring than with a full facelift
- Fewer risks and side effects
- Faster recovery
- Less invasive than a full facelift
- Reduced appearance of jowls and sagging cheeks
- Better cheekbone contours
- Fewer lines and wrinkles
- Improved self-confidence

Raving Reviews From Halifax Patients
Dr. Boileau was great to deal with and did an excellent job. I was awake during my procedure and it was the last surgery of the day. He was cheerful and relaxed and it put me at ease. Very happy with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again in the future.
View On GoogleDr. Bendor-Samuel was nothing but the most professional, compassionate, caring Dr, I felt comfortable and at ease about the procedures which helped with the whole process. The staff at the front desk were always more than helpful to answer questions both pre and post op. I would definitely recommend Landings Surgical to anyone!

The mini facelift procedure is an ideal surgery for younger patients as well as those who only need a minimal lift. Most patients who undergo a mini facelift are those who want to address:
- Sagging cheeks
- Loose skin around the neck
- Drooping, sagging skin along the jaw line (jowls)
- Excess skin and fat that creates a sagging chin
- Wrinkles in specific areas in the mid to lower thirds of the face
Process of a Mini Facelift Procedure
Day of Procedure
Our doctors use the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) technique to provide patients throughout Canada with the most natural-looking results.
Recovery By Week
Week One
It's important to stay on top of pain medication during this week since discomfort may occur in the first few days. You may have a follow-up visit a few days after your procedure, where our doctor will change your surgical dressings and evaluate the area. Bruising and swelling may occur a few days after the procedure.
Week Two
Bruising and swelling may still be prevalent during week two of your recovery. You may experience tingling or numbness in your face due to swelling and overall recovery, but these are normal side effects of the procedure and are not cause for alarm. Toward the end of week two, you should be able to return to work.
Week Three and Four
Depending on your recovery process, your sutures are removed somewhere between weeks one and three, so by this week, your sutures have been removed. You may still have residual tightness and swelling, but for the most part, these symptoms have subsided, and you can begin to see the full contours of your facelift.
One Month After
A month after surgery, any swelling and bruising will likely only be noticeable to you. If you haven't already, you can fully return to your normal routine, including high-intensity exercise. Everyone's recovery timeline will vary, so relax during this time, take it slow, and recover at your own pace.
Other Procedures We Offer
Brow Lift
A traditional facelift doesn't target the eyebrows and skin around the eyes. For a more awakened expression around your eyes, we recommend patients combine a facelift with a brow lift procedure.
Full Facelift
A traditional facelift includes lifting of the jawline and midface as well as the forehead. This procedure can be a more invasive facelift procedure but can produce more dramatic results.
Neck Lift
Signs of aging can appear on your neck even faster than on your face. However, a facelift doesn't target sagging in this area. Pair a neck lift with your facelift to rejuvenate your entire appearance.
